Kaylee A. Mayo, OD

Dr. Mayo became interested in eye care after watching her father being treated for a genetic eye condition called retinitis pigmentosa. She grew up going to the optometrist frequently and always looked up to her family’s optometrists. She started working for a local private optometry practice in high school and fell in love with the profession.

Education/Experience

From Bloomington, Indiana, Dr. Mayo earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Indiana University in 2021 and then her Doctor of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry.

During optometry school, she completed two externships: three months at the VA Clinic in Brownsburg, Indiana, and six months at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.
 
She also completed a residency in primary care at Indiana University School of Optometry, where she gained experience in the management of ocular disease and dry eye.

Dr. Kaylee Mayo

Dr. Mayo enjoys spending time with her husband, friends and family. She is an avid reader (75 books in the last year). She also loves traveling to national parks and snowboarding destinations and spending time boating and wakesurfing.

She was a gymnast for 15 years, competing in club gymnastics for 12 years and at Bloomington High School South.
